Our movie, 'the escaping' will be a mainstream movie. A mainstream movie is associated with commercial success, it is also much more popular form of production than independent movies. With mainstream productions it is shown at complex cinema's, more people are likely to go view it. Also with mainstream productions it targets young people, and that's what our target audience is.
Examples of mainstream horror movies are; unfriended and insidious 3. which have been very popular in the cinema's as well with the young people.
We would have Brain damaged films to distribute our film. This is because they have been a success with distributing low budget horror movies, such as 'the afflicted'. Since 2001 Brain Damage Films has been one of the largest and most respected independent horror film distributors.
Our target audience is 16-24year olds. We decided to opt for this as the genre horror is most popular in this age category.

Our wider target audience would be 16+, so this anyone who is interested can watch it. We would attract our wider target audience in a various of ways such as advertising it on social media sites such as Facebook, which our movie would have its own page so our audience can keep up to date where its showing etc. Also it would be advertised on Instagram as many people are using that.
