Evaluation Q2

Q2

Our character represents a normal person who lives an everyday life. We tried to represent this as much as possible by keeping the character simple and through clothing.
In our opening scene social groups aren't represented which is breaking the normal convention of a horror movie as most horror movies general involve Teen college students or some sort of family being troubled. However our film does represent the normal horror stereotype of a young women however we break the stereotypical convention of her being a young blonde white girl that is seen as innocent pretty and not particularly smart at making tough decisions on the spot. Our main character is asian with brown hair and this is completely different to the norm of an horror however this was just due to availability and we kept the general gist of the characteristics of a normal horror film such as a vulnerable female victim. The killer in the film is masked male which is pretty much a normal stereotype. This is similar to the movie Friday 13th where there is a masked
killer who is trying to kill someone. Our masked character is represented in a mysterious but negative way as we don't actually see a lot of him but we see enough to know which allows the audience to see that he is the villain. We chose to represent this character in this way to make our audience curious about this character and to lure them into the rest of the movie.
