Evaluation Q4

Q4
An audience can be defined as a group of people who participate ,via viewing or through interaction,
in a piece of work but have no part in production.
This is different from a an audience as a target audience can be defined as an audience that the product is intended to attract and is aimed at.
Most horror films are generally aimed at 18-25 as this is age group are most popular for going to the cinema. A lot of horror movies also intend and purposely include certain aspects and characters in their movie in order to attract a certain type of audience for example, most horror movies use a young female blonde character who is attractive in order to attract males of a young age. The wider target audience for these types of films are generally people old enough to watch the movie from about 15-40. Statistics also show that a great number of the wider the audience is over 25 males and this may again be due to certain aspects and elements most horror films include.
Our group has identified our target audience which ranges between 15-24 as we found out through researching that this particular age range attend the cinema the most. Not only was this useful and relevant to our genre we have chosen to do but it allowed us to be less restricted and create a scene which appealed to this age group.
