Q4-Evaluation

'Who would be the audience for your media products?'

The term audience mean the assembled spectators or listeners at a public event such as a play, film, concert, or meeting

The term target audience is used to describe a particular group at which a product such as a film or advertisement is aimed at.

Through our research we came to a conclusion that our wider target audience would be 16-35 year olds. This is because in the BFI statistics that was the wider audience whom still watched horror movies, and we would want them to have an interest in our film. Also from our target audience research we have also found that its between that age range of people who watch horror as their favourite genre.

We came to this conclusion of target audience being 16-21year olds and wider target audience being 16-35 year olds, through our survey monkey surveys. We handed out the surveys to a bunch of people all different ages, sex, class and ethnicity. And looking at the result is was clear that people in the age range of 16-21 enjoy watching horror movies, closely followed by 21-35 year olds. As a group we really wanted to do a horror movie as, as we thought it would be much more fun and challenging.

An example of a horror movie with a similar target audience to us is
'Cabin in the woods' aimed at young people
Nightmare on elm street again aimed at young people
