Pitch
The Escaped
Main Plot:
A girl running from something (unknown) in a deserted woodland area as it is turning dark.
This will be the main shot and will be shown mostly throughout the opening sequence. To go along with this we shall be adding cut scenes which will be very sorts creating the effect of flashbacks as if something terrific is as about to occur. We shall also include one scene showing what she is running from (bottom half of guy behind tree long knife). This will be shown around the beginning and will end with her running into him commencing the title on a black screen.
Our title sequence will be discrete meaning there will be no voices or dialogue. We have decided to go for an idea that its meant to in still panic in our audience.
Se7en has influenced our title sequence as it contains lots of eye catching edits. It also contains lots of flash cuts which is the idea we are going for. Another movie that influenced our decision was evil dead as it has a good story line and uses techniques such as flash cuts and discrete shots to create to build up tension and to shock the audience with what is about to happen.
We plan to conform to the normal horror stereotypes whilst trying to bring in our own perspective of what we feel a horror movie should be and what elements it should contain.
The genre we have chosen is horror as it will allow us to contain a variety of shots whilst keeping it interesting and relevant to the story we have planned
A title sequence in the same genre which has inspired me would be se7en again because of it's complexity and interesting title fonts and effects
props costumes etc
for props we have decided upon using a long bladed knife that the mysterious character holds also this mysterious character will be wearing baggy clothing. The main character's costume is just torn clothing that's a bit dirty from her escaping....
sound design
there will be no dialogue in our title sequence and most sound will be added after during the editing process where will create sounds using a home based software and pre-made sounds. we shall be using a mixture of diegetic and non diegtic sounds.this is because we want sounds like foot steps because it creates tension (diegitic) and a quiet backing track going along through the whole title sequence.
titles
Our titles will look very faint and glitchy in order to go along with the short film and will also make the film very interesting to watch. It will have a sort of Gothic font as it is a horror we thought it would be best to use a font that also demonstrates that.At the point of editing we plan to integrate some the titles into the scene meaning some of the titles might look as if they are stuck on the tree.
cinematic
A shot we definitely will be including is the shot of the mystery character behind the tree with his long knife pointing to the ground
Technology skills
Some of the technology skills that we have picked up on are learning how to use adobe after affects. We will be using this software to add the titles into our opening scene. Another program we have learnt to use is adobe premier and we shall be sing this software to organize our clips into a short film..

Friday we re-filmed a lot of our shots due to some of our footage was being affected by the night filter, which darkened our scenes. We realised half way though filming that the footage would not be very visible and clear therefore re-shot the affected footage. Additionally, this lesson we have picked out individually what shots would be suitable for our title sequence, that are varied to keep up the fast upbeat pace that we have planned for our opening sequence. We have planned our day tomorrow as we will be filming a lot in an open park area. Overall our footage is to very good and is suitable for our title sequence but with in a good order and after editing we will have the final product.

Demo Filming (P.O.V Scene)(Planning)
One way to improve our filming is to not move when filming this particular scene and to keep the camera as steady as possible and only moving it slightly to signify breaths.
Evaluation of prelim film(Planning)
We have come to the end of our short prelim film that we have been creating over the past couple of days. Overall, our end result with what experience we had was not that bad.
During this time, we quickly gained many experience in the time we had with our assigned group. Firstly, working with a group of people whom we only met 2/3 weeks ago. That was something which was challenging as you didn't know what experiences they had and what plans they had for the prelim. So working with a group of people whom I didn't know was a new experience because that way we had more than one idea for our prelim, where we could imbed all of our thought in one project.
Also deciding who had what role during the filming task. As some people in my group were able to use the camera efficiently, whereas others need more help. This was a good way of learning who was most comfortable in what area.
The editing task was a whole new experience, as we had to make the short film look good. In order to do this we used a number of editing software's, which made our movie look very professional. There were some people in our group were editing was their best skills so that was a good thing for our group, as we already had a lead start and made sure that things like, transitions from one scene to the next were smooth and clear and not bumpy and fast.

Whilst filming our first shots, we finalised what shots and angles would be incorporated into our title sequence, which would be useful and effective at portraying our ideas that we want to put across. We did struggle slightly with moving the camera with shots such as tracking and panning shots, however over the course of filming, planning and editing we intend to find a solution to problems with filming. All in all we learnt that things happening around us will limit us to how much we can do, these things include: time, sound, lighting, pedestrians etc.

Task 27- Audience Profile (Planning)
Audience Profiling
The most popular
genres within the UK include Animation, Comedy and Action
The genre I have
chosen to work in is: Horror
Looking at my
previous audience genre preference research, I can conclude that the audience
age range of my chosen genre is 16-24, both male and female, middle to upper
class as well as those with a disposable income and lastly living in more city
and urban areas,
From my research I know
that my audience expect suspense from a horror film. Considering it is horror
they have high expectations of the fear factor in the film.
In my film I will
ensure that there are things that people in this age range can identify with
such as setting and types of characters. That way they will be able to
empathise with the characters in the film.
Based on my research,
my core audience would be young adults specifically around the age range of
16-19. My film is suited to please both genders. I’m aiming mostly for those
coming from working/middle class families, that have a disposable income. Specifically,
areas in Central London and to go further internationally, cities and town
centres. In terms of lifestyles choices, my core audience would especially
spend on leisure such as going to the cinema and enjoying general luxuries on a
normal to regular basis.
My wider audience on
the other hand would include those between the ages of 16-24 Most importantly anyone who prefers the horror
genre. Those who spend on leisure such as going to the cinema. I know this
because I have identified who I want to target and market my film towards based
on their ability and willingness to watch my film.
